Empathy, validation, and compassion.
Welcome,
I am a licensed professional counselor who collaborates with my clients to develop a strong therapeutic alliance. My eclectic theoretical approach incorporates a balance between empathy, validation, and compassion. I have clinical experience with youth, adolescents, adults, and families developing coping strategies and producing successful outcomes during our counseling sessions.
I have counseled youth, teens, and adults with individual as well as group therapy. I facilitated group work for adult inpatient addiction programs, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings specifically applying DBT and CBT strategies to assist patients with their treatment goals. In addition, I have exposure to crisis intervention in a critical care unit screening individuals of all ages to coordinate care in a variety of mental health settings. With my diverse background using a variety of theoretical approaches, I bring a holistic and balanced approach to my practice.
I graduated with an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology from Rutgers University. My graduate degree in counseling was obtained by The Nathan Weiss Graduate School at Kean University with a specialization in school counseling and high risk students in secondary education. I have over 25 years of experience as an educator in the public school system working with families and the community before receiving my clinical license as a professional counselor.
I look forward to helping you or your child through life's challenging journey.
